ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Maryam Kabeer Faye is a traveler on the
Path and loving servant of the Most High.

When she was twelve years old she was
given a painted scroll of an ancient
wanderer, upon which were inscribed
the words: SEEK AND THE TRUTH SHALL
MAKE YOU FREE. This message
galvanized her soul and determined the
course of her life.

Following the call, she set out on the
journey, internally and then externally,
and was guided around the world many times,
from one remarkable being to the next,
everywhere collecting messages and clues,
the gems of Divine Guidance.

This journey, as the book’s title suggests
has been one of profound transformation
and illumination. Not by her own choice
but by the will of God, she was guided
through the exploration of the revealed
paths into the heart of Islam, finding there
the eternal truth brought by all the
prophets and messengers (a.s.) sent by
God to mankind.
This journey into the heart of Islam was
directed by Sufi Muslim Masters she was
destined to meet, in various places around
the world, with whom she studied deeply.
Her quest in search of liberating truth and
divine knowledge led her to Sheikh Harun
Rashid Faye of Senegal West Africa, from
whom she received the blessing of The
Mustafawyya Tariqat. Through intensive
training at his hand, she has become a
Sheikha representating this noble Sufi Order.

By the decree that knowledge is a sacred
gift that must be shared, she is actively
engaged in sharing the knowledge received,
teaching and always learning, in circles
large and small, including as a regular
presenter at conferences on Islam, Sufism,
and Spirituality.

This book, JOURNEY THROUGH TEN
THOUSAND VEILS The Alchemy of
Transformation on the Sufi Path is an in
depth account of the inner and outer journey
of the soul on the path of return to its Lord.
At every moment, in every state and station,
it is an invitation to the reader to set out
and make the great Journey!
This book is a significant and revealing
social commentary, dispelling many
myths and stereotypes such as the
proposition, often fostered by the media,
that women are inevitably oppressed
in Islam. On the contrary, it is by entering
into the heart of Islam that the author was
liberated, elevated, and empowered to serve
the Creator and His Creation with ever
deeper sincerity and illumined faith.

The myth that Islam is a “religion of terror’
was dispelled in the course of her journey by
her realization and deep experience that the
Prophet Muhammad was not sent by the
One Most Merciful but as a Mercy to all
the worlds. This is the profound truth of Islam
that she discovered hidden behind the screen
of the world that is often projecting such
brutal visions, which are totally covering up
and hiding the beautiful garden of the Truth.

Born Jewish in Hollywood, California,
embracing the light of the Prophet Jesus (a.s.)
in monasteries in Europe, Maryam embraced
Islam in Hebron, near Jerusalem, a few
minutes away from the tomb of the Prophet
Abraham (a.s.). In following the example
of the father of all the monotheistic religions,
she dispelled the myth that there must be
conflict between the descendants of this
great man, sent by the Creator, as were
all the prophets (a.s) to guide mankind to
His path of Truth.

Growing up in Hollywood, the San Fernando
Valley, and then Berkeley, California, she
was guided in her journey to many
extraordinary places on the earth, arriving
finally in Africa, realizing, there, the deep
truth that all lives are totally
interconnected, and united with our own,
thus dispelling the great myth that the
creations of the One Most Loving Creator
can be separated by any racial distinctions.

These are some of the many falsehoods
and illusions dispelled for the author in
the course of her journey in search of the
Truth that would make her free.

Travel with her on the epic journey in order
to gain the knowledge that may also
set you free.
